Mandating child life services
The Office of Safety First cannot accept child abuse and neglect reports.
All reports must be made to the NY State Central Register Mandated Reporter Hotline, or call 911 if you believe a child is in immediate danger.
For a complete list of mandated reporters, please review RSMo 210.115.1.
Mandated reporters can report suspected child abuse and neglect by calling the Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline directly, or by making a report online.
NEW: Online reporting is now available for mandated reporters only and should only be used to report non-emergencies.
Taking the lead in educating citizens about child maltreatment, Pennsylvania Family Support Alliance (PFSA) has invested in a first-of-its-kind research study to examine prevailing attitudes and social norms in order to identify actionable ways that misconceptions can be corrected and children can be protected from abuse.
They can also give you advice that might help you help the family in crisis. If you have the thought, "Maybe I should call…" — DO!
Not all calls to the hotline are determined to be abuse/neglect.

Back to Top “Reasonable cause” to suspect child abuse or neglect means that based on your observations of the evidence, professional training and experience you believe that the parent or legal guardian has harmed or placed a child in danger of being harmed.
